The Hartley Bay Marina and the French River Delta 2017 season has Begun - May 1st!!
After the long months of winter, we're happy to announce that Hartley Bay Marina has opened officially May 1, 2017 and will for fishing on May 20th! Join us if you want to catch some of the excellent fresh water pickerel (walleye), bass, pike, muskie and crappie for which our waters are known.
Our family run marina has provided visitors with the perfect access point to the French River Delta since 1952 and the French River Provincial Park since 1989. After a year away in Toronto our fearless leader Mike is back and cracking the whip, with renewed enthusiasm.
Whether you are launching your boat for a day trip, staying in our traditional fishermen style cottages for a fishing vacation, embracing Canada's Canoe Culture, going for a rental kayaking / canoeing excursion, exploring on your own on a backcountry camping paddling trip, or just looking to retreat to your family cottage, the modern facilities at Hartley Bay Marina will be able to suit all of your needs to ensure a great outdoor experience. To get more out of your outdoors this season, take advantage of our seasonal parking and boat storage rates as well as our kayak rentals and canoe rentals.
Last year was a bumper year for fishing! We saw some monstrous catches being reeled in, and this year promises to be more of the same.
What’s New at Hartley Bay Marina in 2017?
Hartley Bay Marina will continue to deliver more of the same terrific services and amenities that we have done since 1952.
We're in the final stretches of preparing the docks and extra space for your convenience this spring.
After another mild winter water levels in the French River corridor are lower than usual this time of year in Spring.
Due to continued demand - our water shuttle will be running again in 2017 as of May 1st . We can help bring your kayaks and/or you further down the river to the campsites, portages and seasonal cottages.
Rent a canoe or kayak and explore your own activities, or take advantage of some guided exciting Excursions for great gift options for any outdoor enthusiast or combine packages to create the ultimate individual or corporate experience.
2017 is seeing continued renovations to our cottages – much to Steve’s chagrin…
Raoul is our resident red fox ambassador and will returning this season to welcome all guests and provide ample photo opportunities.
From late May to the beginning of June is black fly season in the Provincial Park. Canoeing and swatting black flies is difficult at times. Keep in mind; whether paddling a canoe or kayaking on The French River swatting bugs can be tricky…Don’t forget your insect repellent!
Even though fishing doesn’t start until the third Saturday of May, we have been busy getting boats ready and in the water for those early comers eager to get French River access. After such a long and cold winter we are just as eager to see you all too! Just make sure to give us a good amount of notice for when you would like your boat out of storage so that we can accommodate everyone upon their arrival.
