Hartley Bay Marina continues to grow in popularity for people looking for Georgian Bay camping adventures. Georgian Bay camping sites are suitable for families, friends, couples or individuals who want to get away for a weekend or longer.  Enjoy kayaking or Canoeing Georgian Bay by day, and return to your campsite to overlook the spectacular sunset and relax by your campfire.

Georgian Bay Camping Trips & Hiking

Hikers, who enjoy a little nautical experience, frequently add Hartley Bay Marina to their trails. Set in the southern part of Georgian Bay, the secluded campsites are usually accessible by water or water taxi.

A gem on the Canadian Shield, Hartley Bay Marina also offers accommodation and a number of outdoor activities and excursions along the shoreline of the bay.  It is the ideal camping destination or overnight spot for paddlers who enjoy the orchids that grow in the park, along with the breathtaking beauty of nature. Whether you enjoy being around wildlife or bird watching, you can enjoy it all on your Georgian Bay camping trip.

Georgian Bay Camping in French River Provincial Park

Located in the French River Provincial Park, Hartley Bay Marina is set on the shores the French River. The French River has some incredible campsites, but if you wish push a little further on and access Georgian Bay campsites (by portage), the Park's no-reservations policy ensures that you can paddle the river and bay at your leisure, with no pressure to reach a certain campsite at a georgian bay camping bustard islandsspecific time. This makes it the ultimate canoe and sea kayaking destination in all of Ontario.  The waters are easy for kayakers and canoe parties with some paddling experience. Although there are thousands of inlets, there is little to no white water (seasonal); however, experienced paddlers may steer towards the less sheltered channels where there are open crossings that lead to distant islands including the spectacular Bustard Islands and open bays.

Most of our visitors to campsites arrive by kayak and canoe, but we welcome everyone. We even offer a water taxi if you wish to get to your backcountry destination quicker and easier. We also offer kayak and canoe rental options. Our featured 18.8' Wilderness System kayaks are equipped with paddling vests, paddles and everything else you will need for your adventure. We even offer camping supplies and tent rentals at our office to help get you on your way. Our cottages, right on the French River, are interspersed with camping sites with ablution facilities, for those who prefer sleeping under the stars.

Apart from bird watching, swimming and kayaking, you can enjoy hiking on your Georgian Bay camping trip. The park offers a number of exciting short and longer unmarked hiking trails from most campsites.

Book your Georgian Bay camping trip at Hartley Bay Marina today for an experience of a lifetime.
