Hartley Bay Marina is Open the Beginning of May for Spring Fishing in Northern Ontario
Hartley Bay Marina will be opening its doors for everyone looking to enjoy spring fishing in Northern Ontario this year. Whether you want to stay in one of our well-equipped cabins, or put up your tent on a campsite in the French River Provincial Park, we have just the spot for you to set up a roaring campfire.
Starting on the third Saturday in May, fishing season opens on the French River, and Hartley Bay Marina provides the ideal location for direct access to the river, which teems with bass, walleye, monster muskie and yard-long pike.
Spring camping in Northern Ontario also offers great opportunities to spot Moose families. Remember to drive slowly and keep a safe distance from the animals if you get out of your vehicle.
Spring ephemeral wildflowers are starting to bloom, as usual between late April and early May. Their subtle hues add to the beauty of the pastel green trembling Aspen leaves, the white cherry blossoms, the red maples and the many other beautiful fauna and flora for which Northern Ontario is known and loved.
